Daily Blog #7 Royal Wedding Street Party Ideas

We are just under a month away from one of the biggest events of 2018 (19th May 2018) the Royal Wedding. A lot of people are trying to work out what to do in celebration of the wedding. When it comes to occasions like this the most popular of events to run is either a street party or an event at your local village hall/community centre. But the big questions remains what do you for a royal wedding.

The first thing is you will need to have some live broadcast so you can see whats going on at the wedding. This can be either radio or tv/internet broadcast. Once you have that sorted it is time to start organising your street party/village party.

If organising a street party always make sure you contact your council first to check you have everything correct in place to run your event. Some councils will even supply you with a road closed signs.

Entertainment is very important for this type of event as you will have a lot of Children if you haven’t booked someone yet for this special occasion you need to get this organised as soon as possible as most entertainers a booked around 4 to 5 months in advance. For this type of event, I would choose a Magician to come and entertain or maybe look at a Balloon modeller and Face painters too are very popular.

Once you have your entertainment organised and where you have your party it is time to think about venue decor. There are so many choices available you can go for the standard union jack design which you will get pretty cheap from most party supplies, or you can take a look at what is available that features Harry and Meghan.

Bunting is always popular when it comes to outdoor parties and events. This gives the party a British feel I have listed a few bunting ideas below. Have a browse at what is available. Make sure you order early as most retailers will only keep limited stock for a Royal wedding.

Party Plates

For the time of year, the wedding is taking place it should be ideal weather for a BBQ, or maybe you feel a budget would be better, whatever happens, I would always advise looking at using plain party plates. This will save you a lot of money in the budget but maybe think about getting some union jack napkins.

As for Party decoration, this should be everything you need for your wedding party. However, I have listed below a few favourites which always go down well at every street party. These are not required but will always put a smile on peoples faces when they see them. They are also great for photo opportunities.

Once you have these items, you are pretty much all set for your royal wedding celebration. Make sure you also look at getting yourself a few Gazebos. These are handy for when it is raining and also for when it is sunny too. You don’t need to secure the sides. I would also recommend the popup versions too as this will save you time and stress.

I have also been taking a look at new ideas for the royal wedding over at Pinterest I have listed them below these include Table Decor Ideas, Cakes and Games too.
