Daily Blog #1 – Great Yarmouth & Ghost Stories
Well, this is the start of my daily blog. As everyone knows who has read a bit of the Party SOS website my name is James (JJ) I have been involved with the party industry now for over 23 years. I am going to attempt with this daily blog to share ideas from my daily life in the party industry. Let you know what is new and some new thoughts on different things I have done and seen in shops when I am going about my daily life. Hopefully, you will find something useful in these blogs for your next party or event.
Tonight I am writing this blog while I am sat in my hotel room in Great Yarmouth after performing a family magic show at Summerlands Holiday park. As with children’s and family parties, you will always have the same audience from a living room to a full theatre, and everyone wants to be amazed. So this made me had a think this evening when you’re choosing your entertainer you, of course, you want everyone in the room entertained, but you want this done in the best way possible. Unfortunately, there are some children’s entertainer who takes innuendos a little too far. However, I am big believer innuendos are not required you can have enough fun with using the children for the comedy sometimes a good performer will need to do very little as kids are full of crazy stuff.
Tomorrow I am going to have a look around Great Yarmouth town centre as from memory they have a couple of good Fancy Dress and party shops. It will be good to see what’s new on the market but not too much has been released of recent, but that will change with a massive number of blockbuster movies soon released in the next few months.
Sarah (My Partner) and I last night went to see the movie Ghost Stories this movie was written and produced as a stage play which had run in the London West End for many years. The film stars Martin Freeman and Paul Whitehouse. I have to say the show live was incredible and a very clever concept. I will not ruin anything about the movie but it is well worth a visit, and it can be very jumpy (Sarah wasn’t keen was too jumpy for her). The live show had scream cams! In the next couple of days, I will be hunting out some costumes which are associated with Ghost Stories. As a guess, I think the DVD release will be around Halloween if it is in the cinema now so this could make for a great Halloween concept for a party theme or to go as a group thinking out the box!
Well, it’s getting late now I only thought about starting the daily blog on my drive from the Isle of Wight to Great Yarmouth a lovely 6-hour drive! (The things we do for entertainment!). I am looking forward to going out into town in Great Yarmouth tomorrow to find some new cool ideas. Also tomorrow we have a new article being published on modern-day wedding discos from a new author on Party SOS. See you tomorrow!
